Box Score Irvine, Calif. – The Golden Eagles faced the Cougars from Azusa Pacific to make it their fourth conference game of the 2024 season. The Green and Gold fell just short tonight, and the Cougars were able to slip past and take the win. CUI had some serious energy by the end of the night, and a had a crowd who matched their intensity, but the Cougars were able to find some energy within themselves as well.
Sophomore
Kayden Croy led the Golden Eagles in kills, points, and blocks. She also had a career-high of 15 kills and created a lot of energy for the Golden Eagles. CUI and APU both had a total of 39 kills, but the Golden Eagles fell short of gaining momentum and switching the direction of the game. CUI made some crucial adjustments as each set went by, and they managed to improve their score from 13 to 18 after the first two sets, and the final set scoring 23 points.
Junior
Ally Scheidle had eight kills on the night and had the second career-high of the game. Scheidle with a very impressive performance tonight looks to help lead her team to victory in their next matchup. Junior
Caitlin Jarrell also matched Scheidle with eight kills, and hit an impressive .357 on the night.
The Golden Eagles look ahead to their next home conference matchup against Westmont on Thursday, October 3.
