HONOLULU, Hawai'i. - In the last leg of the Hawaii road trip for the Golden Eagles, they took on the Hawaii Pacific Sharks.
Trying to bounce back from the last game, the Golden Eagles found themselves in yet another PacWest dog fight. To start the first half, the Sharks found themselves in a good offensive rhythm.
Holding a slight edge over CUI, the majority in the first half, the Sharks kept the pressure on. A player that the Golden Eagles kept going their offense going through was
Jackson Tucker. Tucker created some great offense with aggressive drives to the basket and switching up his change of pace to keep the defense on their feet.
Despite
Jackson Tucker's offensive output, the Golden Eagles found themselves down at the half 26-32.
Coming back from the half, the Sharks came out extremely aggressive and built up a 16 point lead at one point. The Golden Eagles were not going down without a fight. CUI fought all the way back six minutes after being down by nearly 20 points to cut it to a four-point lead.
After a
Joseph Locandro three-point jump shot, the Golden Eagles were within one point. Despite the three made by Locandro, the Sharks hit a dagger two-point shot to put them over CUI with a final score of 67-64.
