Irvine, Calif - On an emotional Senior Day at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center, the Concordia Golden Eagles delivered a complete, commanding performance, defeating the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds 14–7 to improve to
19–12 overall and 5–1 in WWPA play. CUI honored their seniors with a win that reflected toughness, balance, and late-game dominance.
Fresno Pacific struck first and kept pace early, trading goals with Concordia in a competitive opening quarter that ended tied 3–3. But the Golden Eagles adjusted, tightened defensively, and began to take control in the second. A composed penalty finish from Hugo Wouters and a powerful strike from Dimitrios Koritsas lifted CUI into a 5–4 halftime lead—one they would never relinquish.
The third quarter belonged entirely to Concordia. Behind crisp passing and energized defense, the Eagles exploded for five goals in the period. Kaliq Khan was electric all day.CUI continued to spread the wealth as Carter Clenney, Porter Rosenlof, and Oscar Garcia Blomback each tallied in the third to blow the game open. From there, the Eagles controlled the tempo, outscoring the Sunbirds 4–1 in the fourth behind goals from Wouters, Koritsas, and a late flurry from Charlie Johnson, who struck twice in the final minutes to punctuate the victory.
Defensively, Concordia clamped down when it mattered, holding Fresno Pacific to just three goals over the final two quarters while forcing tough angles and limiting second chances.
