CARSON, Calif. — The Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles battled through a physical, back-and-forth matchup Wednesday night at the Torodome but ultimately came up short, falling 75–63 to Cal State Dominguez Hills in a contest that featured eight ties and multiple momentum swings before the Toros pulled away late.
CUI hung close throughout the first half, trailing just 34–30 at the break. MaCarhy Morris led the Golden Eagles with 16 points, including a perfect 5–6 at the line, while continuing to anchor the offense with strong downhill play. Nick Corbett delivered one of the most efficient outings of the evening, scoring 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds to pace Concordia inside.
Off the bench, Jackson Tucker ignited the Golden Eagles with a flawless performance, dropping 15 points on 6-for-6 shooting, including two threes. His scoring burst kept CUI within striking distance as the Toros began to heat up offensively.
Kaden Minter added 9 points and four boards, while Radek Homer contributed seven rebounds and three assists from the guard spot, helping stabilize CUI's ball movement against Dominguez Hills' pressure.
CUI generated 14 second-chance points and got 18 off the bench but couldn't overcome the Toros' late push.
The Golden Eagles move to 3–2 on the season and return home looking to regroup as they continue their nonconference slate. The toughness, depth scoring, and flashes of defensive intensity on the road indicate plenty for CUI to build on as PacWest play nears.
