IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's beach volleyball team opens the 2025 season at the Green Wave Invitational in New Orleans, Louisiana this week. The Golden Eagles will match up against Texas A&M Corpus Christi in their season opener followed by the University of New Orleans on Friday, Feb. 21, and then Tulane University and the University of Alabama Birmingham on Saturday, Feb. 22. Courts 1, 2, and 3 will be available to view on live stream and score updates can be tracked on Volleyball Life.
Head coach Jenny Griffith enters her sixth season at the helm of the Golden Eagles after leading the team to a historic second-place finish at the AVCA Small College Championships, marking the program's first appearance in the finals. CUI set a school record for most wins in the 2024 season, finishing with a 24-12 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark at home.

The Golden Eagles added six transfers to their roster -
Gabrielle Reinking,
Olivia Medina,
Ashley Rossi,
Samantha Campion,
Eva Gardner, and
Alisa Gavva. CUI also welcomes four freshmen:
Taylor Soule,
Cozy Zimmerman,
Sophie Kane, and
Jordan Vander Veen, who will make the transition from hard court to the sand.
The Golden Eagles return back to Southern California for the Battle of LA the following week. CUI will face off against four ranked opponents USC, Pepperdine, LMU, and Cal Poly from Friday, Feb. 28 to Saturday, March 1.
The home opener for CUI is on Wednesday, March 19 against Cal State LA at 9 a.m. PT before another match with Colorado Mesa at 1 p.m. PT.
