IRVINE, Calif. - Both Concordia University Irvine tennis teams impressed in different fashion to earn home victories over Biola this week.
Sophie Rachor and
Bryn Johnson were victorious at No. 1 doubles and
Jessica Bear and
Alicia Da Re followed suit at the No. 2 spot to put CUI up 1-0 quickly.
Rachor, Johnson and Bear all emerged with a win in the top three singles spots to claim the 4-0 victory with both teams playing to clinch.
The CUI women improved to 4-3 on the season heading into Thursday's tilt at Westmont, with Fresno Pacific on deck on Friday in Santa Barbara at 1 p.m.

Speaking of 4-3 that was the final score of the CUI men's match against Biola. Â
The game was paused Tuesday evening due to darkness with both teams having already claimed 3 points.
Adam Kartzinel was leading 4-1 in third set when both teams agreed to resume the next morning.
Bright and early on Wednesday, Kartzinel cemented the victory with a gutty effort, rising to a 6-2 win in that critical third set for the clinching point of the match.
Back on Tuesday afternoon, the CUI men had won the double point and then also gotten points with
Felix Veyhle at the No. 2 spot (6-2, 6-3) and also via
Adam Large at the No. 3 position. Large won in three sets with a very strong finish by a count of 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
CUI improved its record to 6-1 with its lone defeat coming against nationally ranked APU by a narrow 4-3 margin.
