IRVINE, Calif. – The CUI softball team closed out the CUI Kickoff Classic on a high note, shutting out Fort Lewis 5-0 at the OC Great Park Stadium. With the victory, the Golden Eagles finished the tournament with an impressive 4-1 record, building momentum as they move forward in the season.

Freshman shortstop Kaliya Yco had a standout performance at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs, while Audrey Robles added to the offensive effort with a 1-for-2 outing and an RBI of her own.

Pitcher Bella Calvo continued her strong start to the season, securing her second win of the tournament. The Golden Eagles's defense remained solid behind her, keeping Fort Lewis off the scoreboard for a dominant shutout victory.

Next Up

CUI will be back in action Tuesday, Feb. 4, with a doubleheader at home against Northwest Nazarene. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM, with game two following at 5:00 PM.
