LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Although rain was in the forecast Tuesday the CUI beach volleyball team was still able to play two games. The Golden Eagles took on No. 1 UCLA and Morehead State coming out with a split on the day.
 
CUI 0, UCLA 5
The Golden Eagles faced off against another ranked team this season with No. 1 UCLA. In slot two Solberg and Ostojic put up a tough fight in the first set losing by just two points and UCLA closing the game out in two. Prewitt and Rossi battled it out with the Bruins losing both sets by just two points.
Duo Reinking and Giusta continue to put up a fight in their slot being the only CUI duo to go three sets. The first two sets were a close one and could have gone either way as both teams won by just two points. UCLA broke away in the third to take the final point going 5-0 on CUI.

CUI 5, Morehead State 0
 
The Golden Eagles played against Morehead State for the first time in program history and put on a dominating show.
 
In slot one the Eagles challenged CUI forcing them to drop the second set and force a third but Nordin and Lemoine was able to close out the win. No. 4 slot both duo Reinking and Giusta held their opponents to just 24 points in the two sets played.

The Golden Eagles will play in the Long Beach State tournament starting Saturday Mar. 15 at 11 a.m. against Tarleton State followed by Boise State at 3 p.m. The team will conclude the weekend Sunday Mar. 16 against San Francisco and Long Beach State with 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. start times.
