IRVINE, Calif. - Gaining momentum from their last win, the Golden Eagles dominated against the Adams State Grizzlies today in a dazzling display of playing both sides of the field
Getting the job done on the defensive side of the field is what sparks up the offense, and the Golden Eagles made that factual today. CUI held off the Grizzlies from scoring in the entire first half and only allowed just 10 shots toward the Golden Eagles goal.
Taking advantage of the defensive side of the ball, CUI also took over in the FO category. Retaining 19-25 FOs, the Golden Eagles put themselves in a position to flourish on the offensive side. A hat trick was recorded in the game today by CUI's
Chad McFadden, who scored four total goals in the game.
Jeremy Barnes, who tallied the game-winner in overtime in last week's thrilling 12-11 victory over nationally-ranked Rollins, also collected four points. Barnes finished with two goals and two assists, which included one goal coming with the man advantage.Â
Starting goalie
Daniel Yang made four saves in the first half before handing off to Joey Heckel who did the same in the second half to keep the visitors at bay.
By the end of the competition, when the final buzzer sounded, the Golden Eagles absolutely crushed the Grizzlies from Adams State 19-2 in their biggest win of the season thus far.
