LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Golden Eagles finished the Battle of LA tournament at another host team location Loyola Marymount. CUI had another stiff lineup of games another two ranked teams No. 2 LMU and No. 6 Cal Poly.
LMU 5, CUI 0
In the fourth slot duo Medina and Prewitt were the only team to take the Lions to three sets. After dropping the first set they came back to win the second set by a close two points forcing a third set. The duo left it out all the court losing the match but falling just short by four points.
Campion and Godbey were in the fifth slot for the Green and Gold and did their best rallying with LMU in the second set going to extra points. Although they lost they finished the match with an impressive 25 in the second.

CAL POLY 5, 0
The Golden Eagles had another tough competition in the last game of the tournament against No. 6 Cal Poly. Three of the six slots went the distance going three set
CUI came out ready to play in the second slot as they were the first to finish. Medina and Prewitt had themselves another three set thriller against the Mustangs. They dominated in the first set holding their opponents to only 13 points. Cal Poly came back to win the next two sets but CUI did not go down easily as they had lost the final set by just two points.
Rossi and Nordin lost the firsts set against the Mustangs but in the second came back with some adjustments to win the second by a comfortable 21-16 score forcing a third. Cal Poly came out with the win over CUI in the second slot.
Highstreet and Vander Veen were in the sixth slot for Concordia played with each other for the first time of the season. This duo was one of the three to go to three sets and ultimately just fell short after winning the second set.

The Golden Eagles will be in Northridge, Calif. Friday Mar. 7 as they take on CSUN and Santa Clara with start times at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The next day CUI will be in Bakersfield, Calif. playing another three teams on the road. They will start with Hope International at 10 a.m. followed by The Master's at 2 p.m. CUI will close out the day against host team Cal State Bakersfield with a 4 p.m. start time.
