BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – After playing two games Friday the CUI beach volleyball team traveled up north to play three games in one day. The Golden Eagles came out on top with an impressive performance going 3-for-3 on the day and advancing to 8-5 overall.  
 
CUI 5, HIU 0 & CUI 5, TMU 0
 
The Golden Eagles took care of business the first two match ups against Hope International and The Master's. CUI did not let up and were able to finish all five games in a clean sweep holding most opponents to only 15 points. In the first game of the day the second slot duo Nordin and Rossi held the Royals to an impressive single digit scores and only allowed 16 points in the two sets.
 
CUI had another dominant performance against The Master's as they continue their streak of going undefeated against the Mustangs to go alongside with Hope International as well.

CUI 3, CSUB 2
 
The host team put up a fight for CUI as they had the game tied at two a-piece but the Golden Eagles were able to close out the match by a close 3-2 score.
 
In the No. 1 slot Lemoine and Ostojic went the distance in the first set losing by just two points 23-25 but then came back on the court and made some adjustments to their game plan to win the next two. Pairs Giusta and Reinking had yet another three set thriller dominating in the first set but the Roadrunners came to win the second forcing a third set in which CUI won. The fifth slot seemed to be evenly matched. The Golden Eagles won in straight sets but CSUB put up a tough battle with scores 23-21 for both.

The Golden Eagles will play against top ranked No. 1 UCLA on Tuesday Mar. 11 at 10 a.m. followed by Morehead State at 12 p.m. in Los Angeles, Calif.
