MALIBU, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine beach volleyball team closed out their regular season on the road in Malibu, Calif. playing against UC Davis and host team Pepperdine.
 
 
CUI 1, UC DAVIS 4
 
Reinking and Giusta put up the first point for CUI in just two sets and would end up being the only point for the Green and Gold. No. 4 and No. 5 pairs tried to come up with a win going the distance in three sets but UC Davis was able to close out the games by a close 15-12 score in both slots.

CUI 1, PEPPERDINE 4
 
This is the third time that the Golden Eagles competed against Pepperdine but the Waves came out with their solo win of the season on their home turf. Duo Miller and Rossi scored the lone point for CUI in the fifth slot and was able to do it simply not allowing their opponents to score more than 15 points in just two sets.
 
All other pairs put up stiff competition as nobody let up and could have gone to either teams. Slot two lost in two sets by just two points in each set. The other pairs went to three sets and all were equally matched battling until the end.

The Golden Eagles look ahead as they will compete in the AVCA Small College Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama starting Thursday Apr. 17.
