GULF SHORES, Ala. – The CUI beach volleyball team continue to put on a dominating performance in the tournament as they swept both Vanguard and Colorado Mesa. It was a special day for the Golden Eagles helping their head coach Jenny Griffith reach a milestone as she secured her 100th career win after the first match against Vanguard.
The Golden Eagles have already played both teams earlier in the season and came out with wins so they knew what they needed to do today to beat both teams on the sand. The only challenge that came to CUI was in No. 1 slot against Vanguard only winning the first set by two points but answered back in the second only allowing the Lions to score 11 points.

This is the fourth consecutive year for the Golden Eagles making it to the Gold round semifinals. CUI is waiting to see who they will play as they have a bye to start Saturday. April 19. The Golden Eagles will face off against whoever wins the game before with Texas A&M Univ.–Kingsville and Spring Hill College at 10:10 a.m PST followed by the finals at 12:30 p.m. PST.
