San Francisco, Calif. - In a quick trip to the Bay Area, the CUI softball team came out with a 3-1 record against the Urban Knights from Academy of Art. Today, the Golden Eagles outscored the Urban Knights 22-4.
CUI 10, AAU 4
In the top of the 1st, Concordia wasted no time getting on the board. Jessica Im led off with a walk, and after advancing to second on a hit-by-pitch and moving to third on a sacrifice bunt by Audrey Robles, she scored on a sac fly by Kaliya Yco. The hits kept coming as Gabby Villa singled home another run, and Alyssa Struthers tripled down the right field line to cap off the 5-run fourth inning, extending the Golden Eagles' lead to 8-2.
Yco finished with a 2-for-3 performance and drove in multiple runs, while Struthers and Robles each contributed key singles and scored runs. Concordia's offense was led by Im, Struthers, and Yco, who all had multi-hit games.

CUI 12, AAU 0
CUI broke the game wide open in the top of the 5th. After loading the bases, Kaliya Yco singled to bring in the first run of the inning. Gabby Villa followed with a two-RBI single to make it 4-0. The offense kept rolling with a ground-rule double from Noelani Ching that scored two more, and a double from Kendall Flatt that brought in another pair, making it 8-0. The Green and Gold continued to pile on the runs as Alyssa Struthers, Jessica Im, and Kayla Rodgers all had singles that added to the tally, pushing the score to 12-0. Audrey Robles chipped in with a single that drove in Cortez to make it an 11-run game.

Kira Morris as she pitched 5 complete innings and held the Urban Knights to one lonely hit.
