HONOLULU, Hawai'i – Concordia University Irvine men's basketball dropped a hard-fought PacWest contest on Saturday night, falling 67–61 to Hawai'i Pacific at the Shark Tank.
The Golden Eagles stayed within striking distance throughout the evening, trailing by just two at halftime after Hawai'i Pacific edged ahead 36–34. CUI continued to battle in the second half, but the Sharks used a late push at the free-throw line to secure the six-point win.
Macarhy Morris led Concordia with a game-high 15 points, knocking down two three-pointers while adding two rebounds. Marcellus Edwards followed with 12 points, three assists, and three rebounds, while Kaden Minter finished in double figures with 10 points.
Nicholas Corbett provided a strong all-around effort for CUI, scoring nine points and pulling down five rebounds. Off the bench, Ben Krystkowiak chipped in seven points and four rebounds, while Kevin Haupt added six points on a pair of three-pointers.
Concordia shot 41.8 percent from the field and connected on six three-pointers, while Hawai'i Pacific was paced by Quentin Meza's 24-point performance.
The Golden Eagles (9–9 overall, 6–6 PacWest) return home on Wednesday, Jan. 29, when they host Jessup University inside the CU Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
