Golden Eagles Finish Florida Road Trip With Ranked Panthers

Barnes Tallies 4 Goals and Hollis Scores For The Fifth Straight Outing

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Dustin Hotchkiss net his first two career goals as a Concordia Golden Eagle and Jeremy Barnes led the team with four goals against No. 19 Florida Tech on Friday afternoon.

Taking on their third consecutive nationally ranked opponent on this Florida road trip, Concordia got early scores from Barnes and Erik Hollis in the first period. Hollis has now scored at least once in each of his last five games, including a career-high three goals in Monday's epic 13-12 overtime win over No. 15 Embry-Riddle.

Jake Soliday also scored his first career goal for the Green and Gold off a pass from Matt Carresi. Carresi was credited with a pair of assists as he also fed Barnes for his first goal of the day in the first period when CUI was a man up. The last two scores of the day for Barnes came in the fourth period, followed by Hotchkiss finding the back of the net twice as well down the stretch.

Goalie Brody Woods made six saves in the cage to help the Concordia cause.

Concordia returns home for its next regular season game against new RMAC and NCAA DII opponent Northwest Nazarene on Thursday, March 12. It will be a night game under the lights at 6 p.m. PT at Golden Eagles Field.
