IRVINE, Calif. – Concordia University Irvine softball completed a dominant day against Chaminade on Saturday, earning a doubleheader sweep with a 6-0 win in game one followed by a 10-0 victory in game two at the Concordia Softball Complex.
Game 1: Concordia 6, Chaminade 0
The Golden Eagles opened the day with a strong performance on both sides of the ball, securing a shutout win behind timely hitting and solid pitching.
Concordia jumped ahead early in the first inning as Morgan Kneubuhler launched a two-run home run to give the Golden Eagles a quick 2-0 lead. The offense added four more runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a solo home run from Caitlynn Campbell and a two-RBI triple from Mya Diaz.
In the circle, Kira Morris led the way with five scoreless innings, allowing just five hits. Jayden Nishi closed out the game with two shutout innings to complete the combined shutout.
Concordia totaled 10 hits in the opener, with contributions throughout the lineup.
Game 2: Concordia 10, Chaminade 0
The Golden Eagles carried that strong play into game two, erupting offensively to secure another shutout victory.
Concordia wasted no time, scoring six runs in the first inning. Kaliya Yco highlighted the frame with a three-run home run, while Alyssa Struthers added a two-run homer to give the Golden Eagles full control early.
The Golden Eagles added to their lead late, as Audrey Robles capped the scoring with a three-run home run in the sixth inning. Concordia finished with 12 hits in the game and did not commit an error.
Kailey Estes was dominant in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing just three hits and striking out three.
With the pair of wins, Concordia completed a strong showing against Hawaii opponents during the homestand.
