Irvine, Calif - The Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles men's lacrosse delivered a dominant performance on Senior Day, overwhelming the Dominican Penguins men's lacrosse 27–7 at Golden Eagles Field.
CUI honored its seniors in emphatic fashion, erupting offensively and controlling the game from start to finish to improve to 5–5 on the season.
After conceding the opening goal, the Golden Eagles wasted no time taking over. Concordia responded with a seven-goal first quarter, sparked by Matt Carresi and Brody Wallace, to build a commanding 7–2 lead. The offensive momentum only grew in the second quarter, as CUI poured in eight more goals to take a 15–4 advantage into halftime.
Carresi led the charge with a standout performance, finishing with eight goals and consistently finding the back of the net in key stretches. Wallace added four goals and multiple assists, while Nolan Taylor and Jack Tanner each contributed three goals to fuel the balanced attack.
The Golden Eagles continued to apply pressure in the second half, adding four goals in the third quarter before exploding for eight more in the fourth. Concordia showcased its depth throughout the final period, with multiple players getting involved in the scoring column, including Ryan Tabor, Eli Nelson, Wyatt Kleckler, and Sean McCarty.
CUI's fast-paced offense and unselfish ball movement were evident all afternoon, as the Golden Eagles consistently created high-quality scoring opportunities and capitalized on them. Defensively, Concordia limited Dominican's chances and maintained control, allowing just seven goals across four quarters.
The victory not only marked one of Concordia's most complete performances of the season, but also served as a fitting celebration for the program's seniors, who played a key role in setting the tone early.
With the win, the Golden Eagles carry strong momentum forward, showcasing both their offensive firepower and depth as they continue their season.
