La Mirada, Calif - The final day of the PacWest Conference Championships showcased both the resilience and championship pedigree of the Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles. The split further cemented Concordia's reputation as one of the premier postseason programs in the conference, as the Golden Eagles improved to 12-1 all-time in PacWest Tournament play while continuing their run as four-time PacWest Tournament champions.

CUI 0, BU 2

Despite a hard-fought effort in the opening game of the final day of the PacWest Conference Championships, the Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles fell to Biola University by a score of 2-0 on Thursday afternoon at Freedom Field.

CUI battled throughout the tightly contested postseason matchup, holding the Eagles scoreless through the first four innings behind another strong outing from Jayden Nishi. The Golden Eagles threatened multiple times offensively and collected six hits in the game, but were unable to break through against Biola's pitching staff.

Jessica Im led the offensive effort for Concordia with a pair of hits at the top of the lineup, while Veronica Moore, Morgan Kneubuhler, Caitlynn Campbell, and Serena Velez each added hits of their own. Moore and Velez both recorded doubles as the Golden Eagles continued to put pressure on the Biola defense throughout the afternoon.

Nishi was sharp early in the circle, scattering three hits over four innings while striking out two. The junior kept the game scoreless until the fifth inning when Biola capitalized on a pair of hits and a throwing error to take a 2-0 lead. Kailey Estes entered in relief and delivered three solid innings, allowing just one run while limiting further damage to keep CUI within striking distance.

Concordia continued to battle late, putting runners on base in the fifth and seventh innings, but Biola reliever DJ Symons closed the door to preserve the shutout victory.

CUI 8, BU 0

Facing elimination on the final day of the PacWest Conference Championships, the Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles responded in dominant fashion with an emphatic 8-0 run-rule victory over Biola University on Thursday afternoon at Freedom Field.

After falling in the opening game of the day, CUI wasted no time regaining momentum, exploding for eight runs over the first two innings behind a powerful offensive display that featured four home runs. The Golden Eagles improved to 43-15 overall with the statement win.

Audrey Robles ignited the offense in the top of the first inning, launching a two-run homer to left field to give Concordia an early 2-0 lead. Just moments later, senior Caitlynn Campbell crushed a two-run blast of her own to extend the advantage to 4-0 before Biola could record its footing.

The Golden Eagles kept the pressure on in the second inning. Veronica Moore delivered the biggest swing of the frame with a three-run homer to center field, scoring Morgan Kneubuhler and Robles to push the lead to seven. Campbell followed again later in the inning with her second home run of the game, a solo shot down the left field line that capped the explosive offensive start.

Campbell finished 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs, while Robles went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Moore added three RBIs of her own, and Kneubuhler and Kaliya Yco each contributed hits as part of the seven-hit attack.

Inside the circle, Kacie Gossett delivered a composed complete-game shutout performance. The right-hander worked all five innings, allowing eight hits but stranding multiple Biola runners to preserve the clean sheet. Gossett improved to 15-7 on the season with the victory.

Despite Biola collecting eight hits, the Golden Eagles came up with timely defensive plays throughout the afternoon, including a key double play that halted a potential rally.

The victory showcased the resilience and firepower of the Golden Eagles, who answered adversity with one of their most complete performances of the postseason to keep their championship hopes alive.
