IRVINE, Calif. – The Concordia University Irvine women's volleyball team scooped up its eighth sweep of the season with a dominant 3-0 win over Hawaii Pacific University on Friday night.
The Golden Eagles made quick work of the Sharks in a match that was completed in under 80 minutes. CUI took the opening set 25-18 before an emphatic 25-7 win in the second set. They put the finishing touches on a good night's work with a solid 25-16 decision to close it out.
Kayden Croy led CUI in kills for the second time in three nights as she powered home eight kills and hit a whopping .389 on 18 total swings. Croy and middle blocker
Delaney Gregg each submitted three block assists.
Sophomore libero
Kendyll Winn collected a season-high 15 digs to mark her second straight contest in double digits for that category. Winn added two service aces for the second time this week as well.
Emma Wegleitner also was a weapon at the service line with four aces on the night. Freshman
Livia Eyre gave the team a boost with 11 digs and five kills, while setter
Nevada Knowles led the offense with 26 assists.
The Golden Eagles improved to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in PacWest Conference play.
CUI finishes out a tough week with its third game in four nights against another Hawaii school on Saturday. The Golden Eagles host Chaminade University as part of Volleyball Legacy Day at 3 p.m. PT
