IRVINE, Calif. – The Golden Eagles put on a dominant performance Friday at the Orange County Classic sweeping Cal State Monterey Bay with scores 25-18, 25-21, 25-14 securing its fourth sweep of the season. From the opening serve the Golden Eagles kept the pressure on the Otters combining an efficient offense with a strong defensive presence at the net and in the back row.
Emma Wegleitner paced the CUI attack with a team-high 11 kills committing just one attack error to finish with an impressive .400 hitting percentage. She also made her presence felt defensively collecting 10 digs for her second double-double of the season.
Kayden Croy added eight kills and made an impact on both sides of the net with two block assists and 11 digs. Outside hitter
Livia Eyre chipped in five kills and five digs.

Delaney Gregg was nearly unstoppable. Gregg delivered a season-high 10 kills while hitting an outstanding .692 giving the Golden Eagles a major offensive spark. She also contributed a solo block and two block assists on defense.
Sarah Guglielmana added two kills a solo block and three block assists helping CUI maintain constant pressure at the net and limit the Otters opportunities to build momentum.

Halen Kiefer anchored the back row with a team-high 13 digs keeping rallies alive and giving CUI opportunities to turn defense into offense.
CUI will finish the Orange County Classic Saturday Sept. 5 against Menlo at 5 p.m. before kicking off PacWest play Wednesday Sept. 9 against Westmont at 6 p.m. in the CU Arena.
