Concordia Irvine Athletics

2017: Played in 21 matches with one start and 49 sets… Second on the team with 104 assists… Collected nine blocks and four kills on the season… Against McKendree (Jan. 13) he had played in all five sets and had a season-high 18 assists, two kills and one dig… Had 16 assists and two digs against Cal Lutheran (Jan. 27)… Tied a career-high five blocks at Hope International (Mar. 1) to go along with eight assists.

2016: Had 11 starts in 18 matches and played in 49 sets. Was first on the team in assists with 372 and averaged 7.59 assists per set. His assist average had him ranked 35^th nationally. Collected six 30+ assist matches. Had a career night in a sweep of Princeton (Jan. 29) with highs of 37 assists and five blocks including one solo. Picked up a double-double against Springfield (Jan. 16) with 35 assists and 11 digs. Against Regina (Jan. 2), he had a career-high four kills while hitting .800 to go along with 36 assists, five digs, and three blocks.

2015: Redshirted his first year at Concordia. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo CA, graduating in 2014…Played varsity volleyball as a setter for three years as a Mustang in the Sea View league for Orange County. As a senior Cristian was awarded First Team All-Tournament for La Jolla and San Luis Obispo, Sea View First Team All-League and MVP for high school.
 
OTHER: Born Nov. 26^th 1996 in Mission Viejo, CA to Ruben and Rose Rodriguez… Crisitan has a younger brother Jordan who currently plays volleyball for the mustangs (16)…. He enjoys working as a certified personal trainer and playing basketball when he isn’t on the volleyball court... Majoring in exercise sports science, Crisitian plans to continue school after graduating to become a physical therapist.
