Men's Baseball Coach Ryan Day

Ryan Day

An alumni of Concordia University, Ryan Day returned to the school where he spent two years as a player  to coach in 2013.  He was a member of the baseball program's first ever NAIA National Championship in 2011 and was a coach when they returned to Lewiston in 2015. Day is entering his sixtrh season as the pitching coach for Concordia. Two of his pitchers were All-PacWest selections in 2016 and one was selected in 2017.

He is fourth in the Concordia career rankings with eight saves and third in season rankings with all eight of those saves coming in 2011.  He struck out 35 batters in 30.1 innings pitched, and hit .300 in 20 career at-bats, all coming in 2010.  He had three strikeouts on two separate occasions out of the bullpen in 2011.  Day accomplished that feat against Point Loma Nazarene on 3/12/11 and Westmont on 4/6/11. Day earned a save against Oklahoma Baptist on 5/30/11 with a perfect two-thirds of an inning in the NAIA World Series.

In his first year at Concordia, he split time between outfield and pitching before making the full transition to the back end of the bullpen in 2011. Prior to his time at Concordia, he spent two years at Fullerton College as a catcher and outfielder.

In 2012, Day was the varsity pitching coach at Tustin High School under head coach Joe Secoda, where the team advanced to the second round of the CIF playoffs. Day currently is the Director of the Eagle Baseball Club out of Concordia University. He has spent the last two summers coaching the Mankato Moondogs in the Northwoods League, as a pitching coach & field manager.

Day graduated from Concordia University in 2011 with a bachelor's in communications. In 2014, he received his Master's in Coaching & Athletic Administration from Concordia University.
