A former Concordia University Irvine student-athlete, Makenna Cox has served as an assistant coach for the STUNT program at her alma mater since 2021.
In addition to helping head coach Karli Shutt steer the program through the COVID-19 pandemic, Cox has helped the CUI STUNT team reach new heights. Over the last three seasons, CUI has combined for six wins on the national stage by excelling on postseason road trips to Texas and Oklahoma at the National Championships. In April of 2023, CUI earned a program-best three wins during their postseason trip and finished third place with an outstanding performance in Dallas.
CUI STUNT also earned three All-American nods during her first season as an assistant coach.
Cox assists with the planning and execution of the annual tradition of Midnight Madness, which remains a highlight for students every fall semester as basketball season approaches.
She graduated from Concordia in 2020 with her bachelor's of science in athletic training. She also earned her master's in coaching and exercise science (MCES) in 2021.
