Humberto Villegas joined the Concordia Men's Soccer coaching staff after completing his coaching duties at Cal State Fullerton in Spring 2024 under the direction of George Kuntz.
In Summer 2024, he was part of the Coach of the Year staff under the leadership of Aaron Rodriguez and Rider Amaya at FC Premier Women. There, he trained some of the top goalkeepers in Southern California, including Ruth-Maria Soto (CSUDH), Olivia Herrera (ASU), Audrey Brown (Kansas City Roos), Kamy Anaya (CSUB), Jolie Cazale (UM), Aurora Schuck (CSULB), and Kaiya Jota (Stanford).
Humberto helped FC Premier Women win both their conferences in Summer 2024 in the UPSL Women’s and WPSL, making their first playoff appearances.
An Angelino native born to Humberto C. Villegas and Melina Flores, he was raised in Mid City Los Angeles, where he had the opportunity to develop under many great coaches and leagues.
In his youth, he spent years playing abroad in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. While away from home at Atlético Paranaense, he matured both as a player and as a person. Upon returning home in 2004, he became part of local clubs and played for ODP (Olympic Development Program), representing the USA.
Humberto played with LA Galaxy Academy in the Development Academy. He attended CSUN from 2009 to 2011 before moving on to play with the USL team Orange County Soccer Club, originally known as LA Blues, Pali Blues, and Orange County Blues. He played professionally for seven years with OCSC.
He got a taste of coaching during youth camps for the Blues and has since enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experiences. Over the past 15 years, he has been able to assemble nationally ranked teams on the youth side, developing and promoting players for local giants LAFC and LAG while competing with TFA, Slammers, Pateadores, Strikers, and FC Golden State.
