Sergio Gutierrez joined the Concordia men’s soccer coaching staff in the summer of 2024, following his recent graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from CUI. A former CUI men’s soccer standout, Sergio brings firsthand experience and deep insight into the program’s values and dynamics.
Sergio is pursuing a Master’s in Coaching and Athletics Administration, in which he aims to build on his athletic background and formal education to establish a solid foundation in soccer coaching and athletics administration.
With extensive experience in almost every level of soccer, from grassroots to professional organizations, Sergio offers a unique perspective that enriches his coaching approach. His familiarity with the rigors of college athletics, combined with his professional exposure, positions him well to navigate the demands of both player development and program growth.
Although this marks his first year in an official coaching role, his playing background allows him to connect effectively with players, offering mentorship grounded in practical experience. He has also been a private trainer for five years.
Sergio's responsibilities span several critical areas. He serves as Player Relations,Technical Specialist, Recruitment, and more. Sergio is dedicated to contributing to the program's success, both on and off the field, and is eager to continue growing in his new role.
