Assistant Volleyball Coach Curt Hansen

Curt Hanson

Curt Hanson came to Concordia University, Irvine in 2013. He has had an illustrious career in the sport, playing for California State University, Long Beach from 1975-1979, graduating with his bachelors in 1980. Hanson started his coaching career at the American National Volleyball Association (ANVA) as a girls club assistant head coach from 1979-80. He continued to coach, but transitioned to a school, leading the boys team as assistant coach at San Juan Capistrano High School from 1980-81. Next, Coach Hanson joined Orange Coast College as assistant head coach of both women’s and men’s teams, where he stayed for ten years from 1981-91.

During his coaching career, Curt received his MA degree from CSULB in 1989. He took a break from coaching and returned in 1994 to coach the boys and girls teams at Laguna Beach High School as assistant head coach until 2002. From 2003-13, Hanson dug his feet into the volleyball team at Corona Del Mar High School as assistant coach. Since 2013, Coach Hanson has served as the Eagles’ assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He is married to wife Karen and has four children and six grandchildren.
