  • Title
    Graduate Assistant Coach
Olivia Reins joined the CUI women's basketball staff in the summer of 2021. She is currently in her second season as a graduate assistant coach helping the Golden Eagles alongside head coach Christine Collins-Kiernan.

Olivia is a recent graduate of Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Asian Studies. She spent four years working in the Pepperdine athletic department as event staff, an event staff manager, and as a lifeguard.

During her fourth year at Pepperdine, she took a foundation of coaching class and realized how much of an impact sports had had on her life and wanted to return the favor. So she changed her career path from going to medical school to work in athletics.

In her final semester, she had an opportunity to be an intern for the Pepperdine women’s soccer team under Associate Head Coach Max Rooke. Coach Rooke encouraged her to take more classes, like the psychology of sport, to explore the impact she could have on athlete’s mental games. On top of being an intern for Coach Rooke, she was the team manager for the Pepperdine women’s swim & dive who placed second in the PCSC conference in the 2020-2021 season.

Olivia grew up in a secluded mountain town in Colorado called Estes Park. This gave her the opportunity to play many sports including swimming and diving, soccer, basketball, and cross country.

She is currently enrolled in Concordia University Irvine’s Master of Science in Coaching and Exercise Science.

Though her background in sports is diverse her true love is basketball.  She is excited to help out the Eagles in whatever way she can and can’t wait to learn from the coaching staff and student-athletes.
