Rochelle Short joined the CUI beach volleyball coaching staff in the fall of 2023.
She played collegiate indoor volleyball at Cal State Fullerton and Point Loma Nazarene University, where she earned All-American honors in 2002 and 2003. In 2008, she became the head coach of the Point Loma Nazarene University women’s indoor volleyball team and led the Sea Lions (formerly Crusaders) to three NAIA National Tournament appearances. Â
She has been coaching volleyball for over 25 years and has coached every age group from club 12s through the college ranks.
She has held head coach and assistant coach titles at Vista Murrieta High School, head coach of girls and boys indoor volleyball at Rancho Christian HS, as well as the Athletics Director for Rancho Christian High School. Â
She owned and was the head coach for an indoor and sand volleyball club in Murrieta, Calif. She is passionate about the sport and development of all athletes on and off the court, and loves to teach life through the sport of volleyball.Â
Rochelle currently is an Adjunct Professor and Senior Coordinator of Program Outreach at Concordia University Irvine in the Masters in Coaching and Athletics Administration program where she also obtained her Master degree in 2016. Â
She has been married for 27 years to her high school sweetheart, Mark, and together they have four kids; Brooke, 27, Bryce, 25, Ryleigh, 17, and Chandler, 12.
