LA TRADE: Attended Los Angeles Trade and Technical College for three years... Competed on the varsity cross country and track teams for two seasons... Team was ranked fourth in CA while she was a member.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Kennedy High School in Granda Hills, CA, graduating in 2009... Competed on the varsity cross country and track teams for four seasons... Won her League competitions in the one- and two-mile events her freshman and sophomore seasons.
OTHER: Born Dec. 24, 1990 to Benito and Paula Mercado... Has one brother (11) and two sisters (19, 15)... Majoring in exercise and sport science with a rehab emphasis... Plans to pursue a career in physical therapy after graduation.
