2012-13: Took ninth in 5000, ninth in 10000 at the GSAC Outdoor Championships (4/27/13) ... Took 14th in marathon at NAIA National Outdoor Championships (5/25/13).
UNLV: Attended University of Nevada Las Vegas (2011-2012)... Competed on the cross-country team.
LATTC: Attended Los Angeles Trade Tech College (2009-2011)... Competed on the cross-country and track and field teams for two seasons... Earned 5th place at Conference, 7th place in the 10k event at state.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Schurr High School, graduating in 2008... .Competed on the varsity cross country, track and field, water polo and swimming teams... .Earned cross country MVP senior season, Earned “Most Improved” Award for track and field junior season in swimming and water polo sophomore season.
OTHER: Born Jan. 5, 1990 to Jesus Cortes and Rosa Braro... Has one brother (Diego 25)... Cousin, Christian Cruz, competed on the cross country and track and field teams at San Francisco State University... Majoring in exercise sports science/rehab... Plan after graduation is to become a physical therapist.
