Gaby Fukumura

Gaby Fukumura grew up in Seal Beach and graduated from Los Alamitos High School before going on to study at Pomona College. She spent the last three years coaching at her alma mater Los Alamitos High School as the varsity girls head coach before becoming a graduate assistant here at CUI.

Gaby has also been on the board of directors for Frenzy LC since it was founded in 2022. Before Frenzy, she coached for three years with SoCal Express. Recently, Gaby has helped start a rec lacrosse program called Halos hoping to spread the sport of lacrosse to new youth players. 

At Pomona College, Gaby helped Pomona Pitzer advance to the NCAA Division III tournament in her first season and was voted as the SCIAC Newcomer of the Year in 2014. In her next two seasons, she contributed to Pomona Pitzer's runs to the Sweet 16, the farthest they had gone in NCAA D3 competition. 

After playing soccer and volleyball growing up, Gaby picked up lacrosse her freshman year. While on varsity, she continued the Griffins winning streak by helping win three more OC-LA Girls Lacrosse Championships in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
