For the past decade, Cheyne Gordon has served as an assistant coach for both the women's and men's soccer teams here at CUI under his former teammate in Director of Soccer Chris Gould.

Together they have won two men’s GSAC Championships, two men’s GSAC Tournament Championships, and one women’s GSAC Championship and GSAC Tournament Championship.  They advanced to the NAIA National Championship six times and led the women to a third place finish in the PacWest in 2015.

Gordon helped navigate CUI soccer through the COVID-19 pandemic during the unprecedented 2020-21 school year.  Both the men's and women's squads were able to play four regular season games against PacWest Conference foes as well as multiple scrimmages, while adhering to strict COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Gordon earned his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "B" license, and has served for the Cal South U.S. Olympic Development Program since 2009 as a scout, assistant coach and head coach.

Gordon, who earned his bachelor's from Concordia in 2005, is also currently coaching at Slammers FC in Newport Beach, after previously coaching at Irvine Strikers. His extensive club coaching résumé includes stints at the RSM Storm and Orange County Blue Star club programs.

He also served as a varsity men's assistant coach for Canyon High School from 2002-2004.

A four-year player at Concordia, Gordon served as a team captain. He scored 15 goals and racked up 46 career points thanks to 16 assists—which ranks No. 4 on the school charts.

He also works with US Soccer at their market training centers.

Gordon resides in Anaheim Hills with his three children, Kendall, Jonah, Kylie, and wife, Kristen.
