Chiara Spinazzola joined Concordia University Irvine as the school’s new men’s and women’s swimming and diving assistant coach in July 2019.
Spinazzola is a graduate of Cornell University where she won an Ivy League championship and set an Ivy League record in the 100 backstroke. Throughout her four years at Cornell, Spinazzola broke three individual school records in the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle, and was a part of four relay team school records in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays and 200 and 400 medley relays. She also served as team captain and earned the team’s MVP award during her time at Cornell.
Since moving to Orange County, Spinazzola has been coaching at Irvine Novaquatics and San Clemente High School.
