    Graduate Assistant
Rachel Weinstein joined the CUI swimming and diving program as a graduate assistant in 2020.

Weinstein was born and raised on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest where she began her swimming career at age six on her local club team.  She was involved in club swimming throughout her life and served as team captain of her high school swim team both her junior and senior years.  She also participated in track and field and cross country all four years of high school at the varsity level.

Weinstein competed at the collegiate level at the University of Redlands. Her main events were the 100 and 200 breaststroke. She finished her Bachelor of Science in biology with an emphasis on pre-medicine. She is currently pursuing her master’s in public health at CUI.

Since moving to Orange County, Weinstein has coached swimming at a wide variety of levels, including at Northwood High School, Irvine Novaquatics, and with Nova Masters. She has coached all ages and experience levels, ranging from novice swimmers, triathletes, collegiate athletes, and even former Olympians. She herself also competed post-collegiately at the U.S. Masters level, winning several events at the USMS National Championship in the spring of 2018.

She is excited to now be coaching at the collegiate level and loves sharing both her knowledge and passion for the sport with our student-athletes.
