Aaron Russell

Aaron Russell joined the Concordia track and field coaching staff in 2018 after serving as an assistant throws coach at Poway High School the previous year.

During his time at Poway, Russell coached multiple athletes at his alma mater to league, section and state meet championships in the shot put and discus.

A 2017 graduate of University California-Berkeley, Russell was a Pac-12 scorer in the discus and a MPSF scorer in weight throw. He also was a regional qualifier in the discus.

Prior to attending Cal, Russell graduated from San Diego Mesa Junior College in 2015. While there, he competed in shot put, hammer, and javelin and became the school record holder in discus. In addition, he left his mark by earning Junior College All American Honors in the discus.

A graduate of Poway High School, Russell was also a San Diego CIF Track and field Champion in discus.
