Track and Field Coach Jabaz

Jorge Jabaz

Jorge Jabaz joined the Concordia cross country and track & field coaching staff in the fall of 2013.  Most recently, Jorge has been working as a training partner with Brenda Martinez of Team New Balance, a bronze medalist in the 800 meters at the 2013 World Track and Field Championships in Moscow, Russia.

In 2016 he coached 10,000 meter PacWest Champion and 2015 All-PacWest cross country selection Ashley Bell.  He also coached 2015 All-PacWest cross country runner Samuel Batista.

Jabaz was a student-athlete in the Concordia track & field program from 2005-2007, 2009, and 2011, graduating with a B.S. in exercise sport science in 2008.  He was an All-GSAC selection in 2007, was a GSAC Champion in the 4x800 meter relay in 2006, 5000 meters in 2009, and 1500 meters in 2011.  He was an NAIA and GSAC Scholar-Athlete in 2011 and NAIA All-American in 2009.  He competed on the cross country team from 2004-2007.  He was All-GSAC in 2004, 2006, and 2007.  Jabaz was an NAIA All-American in 2007 and part of the 2005 & 2006 NAIA Combined Cross Country National Championship teams. 

He is currently pursuing his master’s at Concordia in the Coaching and Athletic Administration program.
