Austin Meador is a graduate of the University of La Verne and current graduate assistant for the women’s volleyball program at Concordia. Meador is currently working on his Masters of Science in the Coaching and Exercise Sciences program. Meador is very excited for the opportunity to coach and learn at Concordia.
Meador is also the technical coordinator of Forza1 North Volleyball Club in Ontario, California. With Forza1, Meador helps assist all high school-aged teams in the club by tracking player and team statistics, breaking down film of practices and matches review. In 2017, Meador was assistant coach for the 14-Under Armor team that earned a silver medal at Junior Nationals in the American division. In 2018, Meador was an assistant for the 15-Under Armor and 16-Under Armor teams that took a bronze and gold medal respectively in the Patriot division.
Meador also spent time during the 2017-2018 season with Pasadena City College (PCC) as a volunteer coach for the women’s volleyball program. During his time at PCC under head coach Mike Terrill, Meador learned DataVolley and primarily coached the setters. PCC went undefeated in the South Coast Conference (8-0), losing in the first round of the playoffs to Mira Costa College. Austin saw one his setters, Emily Leung, earn Conference MVP of the 2017 season.
Meador spent the 2014-2016 seasons as the head coach of the Bonita Bearcats in La Verne, CA. Under his coaching the Bearcats went to 3 straight CIF playoffs, making it as far as the round of 16 in 2016. Previously Austin has coached at Occidental College in 2013 as an assistant coach, Ayala and Claremont High Schools from 2006 to 2012.
Meador was a libero for the Claremont Wolfpack from 2004-2006. He earned first team all-league honors in the Pacific League, as well as three Defensive MVP Awards before an injury sidelined his playing career.
