Concordia University Irvine and its Athletics Department welcomed Andrea Riche as the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Compliance in July of 2016. In June of 2017, Riche was named Associate Athletic Director for Compliance.
Riche manages all duties related to the compliance office, oversees graduate assistants, and directs NCAA rules education for coaches, staff and student-athletes. Additionally, she assists in maintaining an environment where coaches, staff, and student-athletes grow spiritually, academically, socially and athletically. She has a strong leadership role in the overall day-to-day operations of the athletics department.
Riche came most recently from Long Beach State, where she worked in various roles since 2015. Since April of 2016, she served as the Hospitality and Stewardship Services Coordinator. In that role, Riche oversaw all department hospitality and stewardship services, managed over 90 events per year, raised over $250,000 in scholarships, collaborated with other campus departments, organized and directed committees.Â
From August 2014 to November 2015, Riche served an internship with Legends Hospitality assisting the USC Athletic Department and Rose Bowl. She began her career as an intern with Long Beach State from August 2014 to June 2015.
Riche (McHugh) played collegiate volleyball at the University of Notre Dame where she received her BA in film, television, and theatre in 2014. She was a two-year captain and named Big East Freshman of the Year (2010), AVCA Northeast Freshman of the Year (2010), Notre Dame Monogram Club Co-MVP (2010), three-time Big East Academic All-Star (2010, 2011, 2012), ACC Academic Honor Roll (2013), and two-time member of the Rosenthal Leadership Academy.
She was also a member of the 2009 U.S. Youth National Team at the FIVB World Youth Championships in Thailand and was a member of the 2011 FIVB Women's Junior World Championships held in Peru.  After Notre Dame, Riche completed her MA in sport management at Long Beach State and competed in one year of beach volleyball in 2016.
