Danny Baladi joined Concordia in July 2021 as the school's new head strength and conditioning coach. He works closely with the athletic training staff to serve the student-athletes and coaches in all 24 CUI programs.
Baladi has strong ties throughout the PacWest Conference and he has gained experience over the past decade building up the fitness levels of student-athletes at both the NCAA DI and NCAA DII levels.
Before coming to CUI, Baladi worked at Fresno Pacific University for five years as their first-ever head strength and conditioning coach. Baladi oversaw the strength and conditioning efforts for all 14 Sunbird athletics programs.
Prior to his time at CUI and FPU, he worked at NCAA Division I St. Mary's College in Moraga, Calif. where he focused on serving the women's lacrosse, rowing, cross country/track and men's tennis programs as strength and conditioning coach. Baladi also assisted as the assistant strength and condition coach for men's and women's basketball, baseball and soccer. He was responsible for the development and implementation of specific weight training and conditioning programs for the respective programs. In addition, Baladi served as the graduate intern supervisor, the exercise lab supervisor and an instructor for an activity course in the kinesiology department for the Gaels. He was also awarded the Student-Employee of the Year for the 2014-15 school year by St. Mary's.
Prior to his time at St. Mary's, Baladi held the position of strength and conditioning coach for the women's soccer program at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. He developed comprehensive and systematic exercise plans on a weekly basis, along with daily maintenance and correction of student-athlete injuries and muscular imbalances.
A 2013 graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a bachelor's degree in applied exercise science, Baladi earned his master's in 2016 from St. Mary's in kinesiology with an emphasis in fitness management.
Baladi holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He also has acquired a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certification and a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
