Jon Tuin will be coaching various field events with primary focus on the javelin and high jump. He competed and coached at an NCAA Division III school, Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. He contributed to the success of multiple Division III All-Americans, including a national champion in the heptathlon. As a decathlete himself, Coach Tuin was a 4 time Division III National Qualifier and a two time All-American.
July 1, 2023 began Dr. Tuin’s retirement after 39 years of public school teaching and administration. He has been married for 38 years to Heather Tuin with three children and three grandchildren. One of his children, Jordan (Tuin) Zuidema, coached Track and Field and Cross Country for four years at Concordia University Irvine in recent years. He is excited about being back on a college campus having coached and worked two years as an internship coordinator in the mid 1990’s.
