Heidi Zuniga

My name is Heidi Zuniga and I am from Rancho Cucamonga, CA. I was a competitive swimmer for 15 years, the majority of those years spent under the coaching of John Ries, of The Claremont Club. I was a 4 year CIF Division 2 Qualifier and Finalist at Alta Loma High School and named "Female Athlete of the Year" during my senior year. At Concordia I am pursuing a Master's in Healthcare Administration.

College Career:
In 2013, I continued my swimming career at Azusa Pacific University, under Head Coach Tim Kyle. I specialized in the 200/100 butterfly and middle distance freestyle and was a conference finalist in all events for 4 years. During my time at APU I earned a Bachelors of Science in Applied Exercise Science. I am a Certified Personal Trainer and served as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at Azusa Pacific, under Nate Nasca, for Women's Soccer, Volleyball and Men's and Women's Track and Field. I have a passion for leadership and developing indivduals, and was named Team Captain for the Women's swim team during my senior season at Azusa Pacific (2016-17).
Coaching Experience:
I served as an assistant coach at Etiwanda High School (2014) and Alta Loma High School (2015). In 2016 I served as the Girls Head Coach at Alta Loma High School alongside Head Coach Brian Herbelin. In 2016, we lead our girls to be named "Runner Up" at CIF Championships. In 2017 I served as the Head Coach at Charter Oak High School, boy's and girl's teams, where I sent 9 boys to CIF, the largest group sent in recent years. My strength and conditioning experience ranges from dry land training regiments, spotting and technique teaching skills, performance enhancement annual plans and personal training for the general population.
