The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles dominated in their final non-conference tuneup of 2015, beating Saskatchewan (CAN), 95-61 at home on Wednesday night.
By the Numbers: Justin Davis had a great night with 18 points, six assists, and two steals. He was joined in double figures by Stephen Grosey (17), JT Roach (12), Matt Scott (13), Martin Thomas (10), and Geoff Gerlach (10). Scott led the team with six rebounds and Thomas had five assists.
The Difference: Concordia shot a scorching 65% from the field, and outscored the Huskies in the paint, 40-12.
Critical Plays: The Eagles passed well early and a layup from Geoff Gerlach in transition made it 14-6 Eagles. Matt Scott and JT Roach hit threes and it was 20-9. A layup from Grosey extended the Eagles lead to 30-18 with seven minutes left. The Eagles took a comfortable 48-31 lead into the break. A dunk from Adam Turner put CUI up 20, 62-42, seven minutes into the second half. A layup from Martin Thomas made it 30, 78-48, with eight minutes on the clock. After a three from JT Roach, CUI led 91-49 with five minutes left.
What it Means: The Eagles improve to 10-1 on the year.
