The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles were defeated by the Sonoma State Seawolves 0-5 at home on Thursday, September 10.
By the Numbers: Jose Garfias, Connor Gordon, Chris Rodriguez, and John Letona fired CUI's four shots on goal. Jordan Brinkley had three saves for CUI but had five goals against dropping to 0-2.
The Difference: CUI was outshot 19-7 and 8-4 in shots on goal.Â
Critical Plays: The Seawolves scored at 19:09 and 38:17 to lead 2-0 at halftime. The Eagles were outshot 10-5 in the first half. Chris Rawji had an open net shot four minutes into the half but it sailed wide. A minute later Jose Garfias had a nice shot on goal that was saved. SSU scored twice easily to open the second half, three minutes in and three minutes later. SSU made it 5-0 at 66:40 with an unassisted goal. Chris Rodriguez had a shot straight on goal blocked at 75:49.Â
What it Means: Concordia fell to 0-2 and Sonoma State improved to 3-0.
