Concordia won the first match of their season with a 25-20, 25-18 and 25-23 over the Gators.
According to Head Coach
Paula Weishoff,
Rachel Flynn,
Maile Lane,
Kyra Auten and
Taylor Dennison had nice matches against SFSU.
The Eagles were able to put the pressure on throughout the first match and played consistently.
Rachel Flynn led the way in the second match of the Seaside Invitational at Point Loma Nazarene. Â She led the way with 12 kills and a .267 hitting average.Â
Weishoff reflected, "UCSD was a better team. We battled but could not sustain any consistent pressure."  Coach Weishoff said the eagles made too many hitting errors in the 13-25, 17-25, 19-25 loss.Â
The Eagles made 11 service errors without any aces. Assistant Coach
Brett Gillen said "We progressively got better but UCSD was just better tonight. They dictated how we played early, which affected our mentality towards our own abilities."
The Eagles play Regis College at 10:45 and #10 ranked Colorado Mesa at 5:45PM on September 5 at PLNU. Check the live links in the inset above.
