Eagles make fourth quarter run but can't overcome Agros


The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles dropped a close one against Notre Dame de Namur on the road, 60-56.

By the Numbers: Brittany Stafford led the Eagles with 18 total points and dishing two assists.  Gaby Johnson put up 10 points and reeled in nine rebounds.  Tyler Crockom grabbed 11 rebounds.  Ryan Robinson dished three assists and recorded a steal.

Difference:  :  The Eagles scored 30 points in the paint and were able to take advantage of Notre Dames de Namur's 17 turnovers and convert it into 14 points.  The Eagles shooting percentage suffered, shooting 29% in the first half and 31% in the second from the field.  The Eagles were 2 for 18 from three point range.
 
Critical Plays:  The Eagles found themselves down early in the first period, trailing 6-0 in the first three minutes.  Tyler Crockon was able to draw a foul and make one of two free throws to put the Eagles on the board.  Elizabeth Rudd would be the next Eagles to score just before the mid-way mark in the first to make it an 11-3 advantage for the Agronauts.  The Eagles ended the first period trailing 22-11 and found themselves down 17-37 with just over two minutes to go in the half.  Brittany Stafford was able to hit a free throw and a jumper in the last minute to close the gap, 20-37 at the half.  In the second half, the Eagles battled to get back in the game, cutting the Argonaut lead to 14 just three minutes in with two consecutive buckets from Tyler Crockom.  The Eagles headed into the fourth down by 14.  In the fourth the Eagles closed the gap consistently, bringing the game to within one point at 53-52 when Brittany Stafford made a layup at the 2:55 mark.  Notre Dame de Namur was able to extend their lead and the Eagles fouled to put them on the line in the last minute.  The Eagles lost 60-54.

What it Means: The Eagles fall to 2-14 overall and 1-10 in the PacWest.
