The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles fell on the road to USC on Wednesday night in the Galen Center, 0-3.
By the Numbers: Joseph Pillon and Andrew Hammer led with eight kills each, with Pillon hitting .273. Ryan Anselmo added seven kills and Taylor Falduti had three blocks.
The Difference:Â The Eagles outblocked them 8.5-7, but hit .149 compared to USC's .245, and USC led in sideout percentage 74% to 60%.
Critical Plays: Concordia was in set one the whole way. A block from Chandler Gibb and Falduti tied the game at 18, and CUI tied again at 23 on a kill from Anselmo. USC grabbed the match 26-24. A block from Pillon and Falduti helped CUI lead 14-17 in set two, but USC tied at 20 and finished it 25-22. USC dominated set three, 20-10, and finished it 25-15.
What it Means:Â Concordia dropped their fourth straight to go to 10-6.
