The Rundown: The Concordia Eagles dropped two games at home to Azusa Pacific, 0-4 and 0-5, on Saturday.

By the Numbers:  Alyssa Yglesias had two singles, and three other Eagles had singles.  Grayson Harvey took the loss allowing six hits and four runs, three earned.

The Difference:  CUI stranded nine runners and had no extra base hits.

Critical Plays:  A walk, stolen base, error, and single led to a 1-0 APU lead in the first, and CUI left two runners on in the bottom.  Hannah Howell laid a bunt single in the second and one walked to put two on, but again they were stranded.  APU loaded the bases in the fourth and scored on a sac fly to make it 2-0.  Yglesias singled for CUI in the bottom half and a walk put two on, but CUI could not score as a double play ended the inning.  APU singled and homered to make it 4-0 in the sixth.  CUI was held scoreless in the game.

By the Numbers:  Charlotte Foster tripled, but CUI only managed two other hits.

The Difference:  The Eagles again left seven on base, but the errors hurt them on the defensive side.  BethAnn McCann allowed 10 hits, but only one of the five runs were earned.

Critical Plays:  Foster tripled down the left field line with two out in the first, but a lineout ended it.  A diving catch from Yglesias in right kept APU off the board in the second.  A single from Jasmin Dresser and two walks loaded them for CUI in the bottom half.  Again they were left there.  APU put two on in the fourth and scored three runs on a throwing error that cleared the bases.  An error led to another APU run in the fifth and three singles made it 5-0 in the seventh. 

What it Means:  It marks the first regular-season doubleheader loss for CUI since April 28, 2011 to Cal Baptist and first three-game losing streak since April 19 of that year. 

Up Next:  Concordia, 8-4 in the PacWest, stays at home and hosts Hawaii at Hilo at 2 pm next Wednesday.
