The Concordia Eagles baseball team took on Azusa Pacific at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles played well defensively but were unable to bring a run across and fell to the Cougars 1-0.
CUI recorded three hits and no errors in the outing.
Starting on the mound was Isiah Terrazas who pitched 7.1 innings and allowed one run on four hits. Terrazas struck out two batters and recorded the loss, dropping his record to 4-4 on the season.Â
Garrett Kraemer entered the game to finish up the eighth.
Luke Hussung went 2-2 on the afternoon, hitting two singles to left field.Â
Tino Leite was 1-3, singling to center.
It was a defensive battle until the Cougars got on the board in the fifth after a shot down the third base line allowed Cam Bennett to score from second.Â
The Eagles were unable to take advantage of their base runners and were defeated, 1-0.
Overall, the Eagles record drops to 20-23 and 16-13 in the PacWest.
Game two of the four game series with the Cougars is on Friday, April 22
nd on the road in Azusa, Calif.
