Eagles Drop Two At APU

The Concordia Eagles baseball team dropped two game against APU on Saturday.  The Eagles record drops to 20-26 on the season and 16-16 in the PacWest.

Game One: Concordia 6, APU 7

Spencer Moran started on the mound and pitched 6.2 innings.  He walked four batters, struck out three and allowed nine hits on six runs.  Nick Boyett pitched and inning and a half and had a strikeout.  Boyett allowed one run and was charged with the loss.  His record falls to 5-3 on the season.

The Eagles racked up 6 runs, 11 hits, and no errors. 

Ryan Land had two RBI's on two hits, going 2-2.  He hit a two run homer in the fifth.

Tino Leite and Brian Fleischli doubled and went 2-3 and 2-4 on the afternoon.  Fleischli had an RBI as well.

Spencer Nielsen had three RBI's after hitting a three run homer in the ninth to tie the game headed into the bottom of the ninth.  APU responded with a home run of their own and won the game, 7-6.

Game two: Concordia 2, APU 7

Morgan Brannock, Jose Cardona, and Garrett Kraemer were all on the mound for the Eagles.  Barnnock pitched three innings and had a strikeout.  He picked up the loss, putting his record at 0-3.  Cardona was in for the fourth and made two strikeouts and allowed four runs on four hits.  Kraemer pitched the last two for the Eagles to finish the game.

The Eagles scored two runs, had six hits, and no errors.

Ryan Land had a groundout RBI which scored the first run of the game to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage.

Luke Van Holten hit a double in the third and went 1-3.  John Bornhop, and Luke Hussung both singled and went 1-3.  Spencer Nielsen went 2-3 with a single and a double.

The Eagles took advantage of an APU error in the sixth to score their second run but APU had too big of a lead to overcome.

The Eagles record drops to 20-26 on the season and 16-16 in the PacWest.

The last series of the season will take place at Eagles field starting with a single nine inning game on Friday, April 29th at 3 pm.
